Traditional British Cruising

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines operates cruises from UK ports to more than 200 destinations worldwide. The traditional British service onboard will delight you. Guests select Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines not for the climbing walls, skating rinks, and hordes of fellow travelers, but for the itineraries and the personal service for which they are highly recognized by their peers, the travel industry, and of greatest importance, by guests.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines operates five classic ships, each big enough to be comfortable yet small enough to visit unique destinations that larger ships can’t reach. Each cruise has a relaxed British atmosphere, mouth-watering cuisine and exceptional itineraries. So be prepared for a uniquely and refreshingly different cruise experience on the cruise line that has been voted Best European and Classic Ship Operator – Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines!

The cruise line is the cruising division of a large Norwegian company that has been in the transportation business since the mid 1800's.  It is not surprising, therefore, that many itineraries feature the highlights and lesser known ports of the Baltic, the Norwegian fjords and west coast of Norway as well as Iceland and Greenland. The Canary Islands, Africa, Mediterranean, Adriatic and Black Sea cruises are also featured prominently in the line's itineraries.

Ships: Balmoral is the largest ship in the fleet, carrying 1,400 passengers after its refurbishment and stretch in 2008. Braemar, once operated as Crown Dynasty, also enjoyed a  refurbishment and stretch in 2008. The stretch increased the ship's passenger capacity from 750 to 987. Black Watch and Boudicca are sister ships originally built for Royal Viking Line as the RV Star and RV Sky. Both ships have enjoyed total refurbishment in 2006 including new engines and other key components. Black Watch carries 807 passengers and Boudicca carries 839 passengers. Black Prince is the smallest ship in the fleet, carrying 412 passengers. After 43 years, the much-loved ship will be retiring at the end of 2009.
