Galapagos Explorer II

Our cruises are more than an expedition experience.  We offer casual elegance in a natural paradise while traveling on any of our cruises to the Galapagos Islands.   No matter what  your interest is in the Galapagos archipelago, Galapagos island travel is surrounded by history and mystery.   It is no small wonder  that Charles Darwin was inspired  to develop  his renowned theory of evolution.

The M/V Galapagos Explorer II experience is more that a cruise program.  Our Galapagos tours are designed to offer comfort, adventure and security while you discover this paradise.  Cruises to the Galapagos Islands will enchant you with its magic.  In fact, it will be easy to discover how a Galapagos cruise  will be a life time trip that will increase your love for nature.

We offer three, four, and seven night cruises  with accommodations  on our astonishing all –suites vessel with a sea view, and twenty-four  have private balconies. Each  suite has a television, a mini-bar, and wireless internet access.  The Explorer II has a central air conditioning system that covers all the interior areas, satellite communication,  and all the amenities you need for a life time adventure experience on your Galapagos cruise.

While on board the vessel, personal service and attention to all your needs is our primary concern.  During the day you will have an opportunity for two Galapagos tours on  the islands that our guides will lead.  Later on board, our crew will pamper you with their personal service.  You can relax at the Jacuzzi, drink a cocktail while you watch the sunset, or ask for a massage in the comfort of your suite.

The renowned culinary staff prepares a daily fare of popular international and Ecuadorian cuisine, as well as special diets.   Meals are served with style and flair in the one-seating, no-smoking restaurant.   You will be able to experience the perfect blend of Latin American cuisine mixed with international flavors while on your Galapagos cruise.

The Explorer II offers a variety of areas for you to enjoy, including two Jacuzzis, and a Piano Bar,  all designed for your relaxation and musical enjoyment.   Galapagos Island travel offers the possibility of meeting new friends from different parts of the world while our Captain sails our majestic vessel through the Galapagos waters.

Our Galapagos Tours are designed to provide interesting itineraries in this pristine paradise. Experts naturalists guides will describe the islands and their history.   Guides share information on geology, evolution, pirates, and loves stories.   These are just a  few topics that you will be able to discover while you walk through the trails of this archipelago.

We at Galapagos Explorer believe in responsible tourism and are committed to preserve the natural environment where we operate. We have created a process using low impact, biodegradable soaps, detergents and shampoos that are used on board the vessel.  .  We share our practice with our guests providing different tips throughout the program that will help travelers in  our initiative. In 2008, we qualified for the ISO 14001% certification which is the only international regulation that allows us to establish, record, implement, maintain and constantly improve the environmental management system.

The Galapagos Explorer II constantly supports Galapagos communities through social work and contributions to education. We purchase 30% of our supplies from local companies, hire local staff to coordinate our logistics, and encourage our passengers to purchase souvenirs while their Galapagos Island travel.

Important changes for 2012

Galapagos National Park celebrated 50 years in 2009.As part of their challenge of conservation of the archipelago, they started to implement programs that reduce environmental impact and preserve the islands for future generations.  This includes  several stages that have been updated since  the Unesco warning alert announced several years ago, finally ended this past July.  In the tourist sector, the main change is in the 7 night program itinerary we will continue to operate  through 2011.   Starting 2012, the itineraries will be for 14 nights,   which means that the configuration of our programs will be affected.

These changes have two important things to support the actions taken by the Park and the inclusion of new sites as part of our itinerary.   Below you will find the new programs that we are going to operate starting January 14, 2012.
